Serge Salat | President

Serge Salat is a practicing architect, urban planner and designer. His most creative designs have been exposed in prestigious places (Triennale di Milano, Centre Pompidou) and featured by major media (Architecture Now!, Frame or the Wall Street Journal). He is recognized as a leading expert and central figure in the field of urban morphology, urban policy and complexity science. He advises leading international institutions in the field of urban planning and urban policy, among which the United Nations, IPCC, CDC and AFD. As a project director, he supervised large projects such as international airports, high speed train stations and Eco-cities. He is the author of two major books on urban morphology, published numerous peer-reviewed publications and is often invited to give keynote speeches at international conferences. He is a graduate of École Polytechnique and ENA and holds 3 PhDs in Economics, Architecture and Art History



Loeiz Bourdic | Executive Director and Data Specialist

Loeiz Bourdic is an engineer and economist. His main focus is on bridging the gap between hard science and urban policies. He works on the transposition of quantitative data analysis into urban strategies to support urban investments and policy decision making processes. He is the author of several peer-reviewed papers. He holds a Master in Engineering from École Polytechnique and a Master of Science in Environmental Economics & Policy from Imperial College, London.

Françoise Labbé | Architect | Urban Planner

Françoise Labbe is a practicing architect and urban planner. She supervises the transposition of the Urban Morphology Institute’s strategies into operational projects through master planning, neighborhood and building design. She co-authored several books on sustainable cities and eco-neighborhoods. She graduated as an architect and urban planner from the Ecole d’Architecture de Paris La Villette.

Karen Levy | Architect | Urban Planner

As an architect and urban planner, Karen Lévy has a ten years experience in the field of urban studies and complex urban projects management. Her expertise in developping innovative conceptual and prospective frameworks brought her to urban research, with a focus on cities in developing countries. She is now working on the environmental, economic and social impacts of urban sprawl, densification and urbanization patterns.
